2023 Maryland State BBQ Bash.  

We had a terrific day and solid showing at the 2023 MD State BBQ Bash held on Friday, October 13, 2023 in the great downtown of Bel Air Maryland.

This was only our 3rd competition and out of 37 teams competing in the KCBS Backyard division Team BBQ McLovin' got its very first call by landing 7th place for ribs! We made excellent improvement in our chicken placing moving up to 30th place in chicken (We won't mention where we placed in chicken last year when Tom was cooking the chicken...).  The Mid-Atlantic BBQ Association was out if force at this event!

2023 Revolutionary BBQ Brawl.  

We competed in the 1st annual Revolutionary BBQ Brawl the weekend of April 28th.  The event was held in beautiful Williamsburg VA.  Many thanks to Dave D. of Ham Squad BBQ for organizing such a great event!

We placed 22nd out of 24 teams in the backyard division. (If we were a baseball pitcher you might say we got a little roughed up!)  The quality our competitors’ BBQ was top-notch!  We were able to sample BBQ prepared by several of the other teams, got some good tips, and had an amazing time. 

The teams in attendance were super great people and we can’t wait for our next competition!

2022 Maryland State BBQ Bash.  

While each of us is a Backyard Hero and Neighborhood BBQ Legend in our right this was our first ever competition and it was amazing!

Out of 41 contestants in the KCBS Backyard Division we placed 17th in Ribs!!!  And...  dead last in chicken! (Somebody had to do it!)

We can't wait to get there to compete in more events and enjoy more days filled with good friends, good food, and some friendly competitiion.
